FRIES…ooooooh yeah!!! Give me any kind of fried potato that I can dip into an assortment of condiments and I will be your best friend! You will seriously fall in love with these…salty & sweet….and much healthier than what they serve up at any fast food joint.
After much trial & error with less than stellar results (too soggy, too burnt, too undercooked, etc), I have finally mastered the art of the PERFECT SWEET POTATO FRY!
TIP: Try dipping them in maple syrup or honey mustard instead of the standard french fry accessory of ketchup. Continue reading
This super easy & tasty side was inspired by a recent trip to my favorite grocery store….Wegmans. For those of you who don’t have a Wegmans near you, I offer my sincere condolences. This place is HEAVEN!! They offer cooking tutorials, free samples, printed recipes and seasonal menus…really helps get the creative cooking juices flowing.
They have a monstrous assortment of every kind of everything…at very reasonable prices, I might add.
Now normally when I find myself in the produce section, it can be intimidating. There are so many oddities that I frequently think, “What the hell am I supposed to do with THAT?!?!” If it wasn’t for the kind folks at Wegmans who offered me a sample of these roots, I may never have known what to do with them.
In the New Year, however, one of my resolutions is to experiment with new ingredients & flavors. So with that, allow me to introduce you to the roots. This is the perfect accompaniment to any Fall/Winter dish! Continue reading
